The City of Bristol is located in Hartford County, and its boundaries include the neighborhoods of Federal Hill, Chippens Hill, Forestville, Edgewood, Lake District, Cedar Lake, West End, North End, Downtown and Northeast Bristol. The area was first incorporated in 1785 as a town called New Cambridge. In the mid-19th century, the town boasted significant manufacturing companies like J.H. Bristol became a city in 1911 and today, Bristol is known as the home of ESPN, the American Clock & Watch Museum and Lake Compounce, America’s oldest operating theme park.

Depending on who you ask, Bristol has three or more nicknames: Bell City, Clock City and Mum City.
