Thankful Arnold House, Haddam, Connecticut:
At 14 Hayden Hill Road is a late 18th century Dutch Colonial house museum. Distinguished by its gambrel roof, the house was built in three stages between 1794 and 1810. Today the house provides a glimpse into the life of a widow named Thankful Arnold. After the untimely death of her husband, Joseph, she inherited the property and its general store on the ground floor. Thankful and Joseph had six children and the property remained in the Arnold Family until the 1960’s when it became the home of the Haddam Historical Society.
