The Quinnipiack Club, New Haven, Connecticut:
In 1871, a group of twenty New Haven businessmen established the “Ours Club,” which shifted around several downtown locations for decades. The club once hosted sitting President William Howard Taft and inducted him as an honorary member. Eventually, the organization was renamed “The Quinnipiack Club” and constructed this Georgian-style edifice at 221 Church Street in 1931. One of its famous features is a bowling alley downstairs. In 2017, The Quinnipiack Club was absorbed by and merged with New Haven’s Graduate Club.
