Olympia Diner, Newington, Connecticut:

In 1954, the Olympia Diner on the Berlin Turnpike was established by the Jerry O’Mahony Diner Company, of New Jersey. The company produced more than 2,000 diners from 1917 to 1941. These roadside diners were primarily metal buildings, prefabricated in a factory, and trucked to the location.

Locals affectionately call the diner “The OD” which has been owned by three families: the Kritikos and the Goulias for 10 years each, and the current owners, the Gavrilis family, since 1974. The diner was featured in films such as Promises in the Dark (1979) starring Marcia Mason and Jacknife (1989) starring Robert DeNiro.
