Hotel Bond, Hartford, Connecticut:

Hotel Bond on Asylum Street was once Hartford’s most luxurious establishment. It was built in two stages in 1913 and 1921 by restaurateur turned hotelier Harry S. Bond. Business travelers, locals and celebrities including Babe Ruth were frequent guests. Before passing away in 1935, Bond had expanded locations with the Bondmore and the Bond Annex.

The Bond chain eventually fell out of favor and the main hotel was sold in 1965 to create the Saint Francis Hospital School of Nursing. The Bond Ballroom, atop the 12-story building, was revived in 2001 and continues to be a popular venue for weddings and special events. Apartments dubbed the Bond Residences opened in 2020.
