At 496 Main Street is a classic New England home erected in 1765. The first owner, Francis Hanmer Jr. was a descendent from one of Wethersfield’s first Puritan families. They were known to have operated a successful mill in town. Additions have been made over the years and the Hanmer home is now 2,900 square feet with five bedrooms and three fireplaces. The center chimney Colonial is a short walk away from Wethersfield Cove in an impressive Historic District.
